Quicken for Windows Conversion Instructions

Quicken for Windows 2010-2012 (Direct Connect to Direct Connect)

Introduction

As Congaree State Bank-OLD completes its system conversion to Congaree State Bank-NEW, you will need to modify your Quicken settings to ensure the smooth transition of your data.

It is important that you perform the following instructions exactly as described and in the order presented. If you do not, your service may stop functioning properly. This conversion should take 15–30 minutes.

NOTE: This update is time sensitive and can be completed on or after October 22nd, 2012.

Documentation and Procedures

Task 1: Conversion Preparation

1. Backup your data file. For instructions to back up your data file, choose Help menu > Quicken Help. Search for Backup Data File and follow the instructions.

2. Download the latest Quicken Update. For instructions to download an update, choose Help menu > Quicken Help. Search for Update Software and follow the instructions.

Task 2: Connect to Congaree State Bank-OLD

1. Choose Tools menu > One Step Update.

2. Depending on how you manage financial institution passwords, you may be prompted to enter your Vault password at this time or to enter individual passwords in the One Step Update dialog.

3. In the One Step Update Settings dialog, make sure all items are checked and click Update Now.

4. If new transactions display in the Online Update Summary, accept them in your Quicken account register.

Task 3: Deactivate Your Account(s) At Congaree State Bank-OLD

1. Choose Tools menu > Account List.

2. Click the Edit or Edit Details button of the account you want to deactivate.

3. In the Account Details dialog, click on the Online Services tab.

4. Click on Deactivate or Deactivate Online Payment (only available if you use bill pay services). Follow the prompts to confirm the deactivation.

5. Click Deactivate or Remove from One Step Update. Follow the prompts to confirm the deactivation.

NOTE: The name of the buttons referenced above vary depending on the services you currently use and the version of Quicken you are using.

6. Click on the General or General Information tab. Delete the Account Number.

7. Delete the name of the Congaree State Bank-OLD. Click OK to close the window.

8. Repeat steps 2 – 7 for each account at Congaree State Bank-OLD.

Task 4: Re-activate Your Account(s) at Congaree State Bank-NEW

1. Open the account register that you want to enable for online account access.

2. Choose Account Actions menu > Set Up Online.

3. Enter Congaree State Bank-NEW and click Next.

4. Type your User ID and Password. Click Connect.

5. You will be presented with a list of accounts available for online access.

6. Ensure you associate the account to the appropriate account already listed in Quicken. You will want to select Link or Exists in Quicken and select the matching accounts in the drop-down menu.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT select New or Add In Quicken. If you are presented with accounts you do not want to track in this data file, select Ignore – Don’t Download into Quicken.

7. After all accounts have been matched, click Next.

You will receive confirmation that your account(s) have been added.

8. Click Done or Finish.

QuickBooks for Windows Conversion Instructions

QuickBooks for Windows 2010–2012 (Direct Connect to Direct Connect)

Introduction

As Congaree State Bank QB DC-OLD completes its system conversion to Congaree State Bank-NEW, you will need to modify your QuickBooks settings to ensure the smooth transition of your data. To complete these instructions, you will need your customer ID and PIN. It is important that you perform the following instructions exactly as described and in the order presented. If you do not, your service may stop functioning properly. This conversion should take 15–30 minutes.

NOTE: This update is time sensitive and can be completed on or after October 22nd, 2012.

Task 1: Conversion Preparation

1. Backup Your Data File.
For instructions to back up your data file, choose Help menu >> QuickBooks Help. Search for Back Up and follow the instructions.

2. Download the latest QuickBooks update.
For instructions to download an update, choose Help menu >> QuickBooks Help. Search for Update QuickBooks, selecting Updating QuickBooks or Downloading Updates From The Internet and follow the instructions.
IMPORTANT: If multiple computers do not use the same QuickBooks data file, skip step 3.

3. Switch to single user mode.

For instructions to switch to single user mode, choose Help menu >> QuickBooks Help. Search for Switch to Single User Mode and follow the instructions.
IMPORTANT: If you are not using Register Mode, enable it for the conversion. You can change it back after the conversion is complete.

4. Enable register mode.
For instructions to enable register mode, choose Help menu >> QuickBooks Help. Search for Online Banking Modes. Select Online Banking Modes, scroll down, and follow the instructions.

Task 2: Connect to Congaree State Bank QB DC-OLD

1. Choose Banking menu >> Online Banking >> Online Banking Center.

2. From the Financial Institution dropdown, choose Congaree State Bank QB DC-OLD.

3. Go to the Items to Send list and make sure all items have checkmarks.

4. Click the Send/Receive button.

Task 3: Match Downloaded Transactions

If new transactions were received from your connection, accept all new transactions into the appropriate registers.
If you need assistance matching transactions, choose Help menu >> QuickBooks Help. Search for Matching Transactions and follow the instructions.

Task 4: Deactivate Your Account(s)

Important: All transactions must be matched or added to the register prior to the deactivating of your account(s).

1. Choose Lists menu >> Chart of Accounts.

2. Select the account you want to deactivate.

3. Choose Edit menu >> Edit Account.

4. In the Edit Account window, click the Online Services tab.

5. Select Deactivate All Online Services and click Save & Close.

6. Click OK for any dialog boxes that may appear with the deactivation.

Repeat steps 2 – 6 for each account at Congaree State Bank QB DC-OLD.

Task 5: Re-activate Your Account(s) at Congaree State Bank-NEW

IMPORTANT: You will require your customer ID and Password for Congaree State Bank QB DC to complete the following steps.

1. Choose Banking menu >> Online Banking >> Set Up Account for Online Services.

2. Select an account to activate.

3. Choose Congaree State Bank-NEW and click Next.

4. Follow the instructions in the wizard. If prompted for connectivity type, select Direct Connect.

5. Match to the appropriate account and click Finish.

Repeat steps 1 – 5 for all accounts at Congaree State Bank-NEW
Re-enable Side by Side Mode
If you use register mode, you can skip to the next section. If you use the Side by Side mode for online banking, you may now re-enable the mode.
For instructions to enable Side by Side mode, choose Help menu >> QuickBooks Help. Search for Online Banking Modes and follow the instructions.
